AmBank Enrich: When the Platinum Outshines the Infinite
Free lounge access, no annual fee, and better strategically. Turns out the “younger sibling” Visa Platinum is the real MVP. Sorry, Infinite.

AmBank Enrich Visa Platinum is Now The Smarter Pick
The AmBank Enrich Visa Platinum now makes more sense than the Visa Infinite for most people, with no annual fees for life and four yearly visits to the Malaysia Airlines Golden Lounges, even if you’re flying economy on MH.
It comes with a 30% reduction in Enrich Elite Points requirement, which is very useful if you’re aiming for elite status. You also get 4 complimentary MAS Golden Lounge visits per year.
And for what it’s worth, the Visa Platinum version is free for life.
Meanwhile, the AmBank Enrich Visa Infinite becomes the first card featured on BolehMiles to be downgraded to a “Tak Boleh” rating, following its drastic 50% earning rate cut effective 1 August 2025.
With the earn rate devaluation taking effect on 1 August 2025, there’s little reason to choose or keep the Visa Infinite, unless you specifically need unlimited lounge access and aren’t already an Enrich Elite member.
Lounge Access
The Visa Platinum version of this card provides 4x Lounge Access at Malaysia Airlines Golden Lounges at KLIA T1, and the Visa Infinite version provides unlimited access for the cardholder plus one guest.
You’ll need to redeem the access each time through the Malaysia Airlines mobile app. Just ensure that the email address provided to Ambank is the same as the email address of your MAS account.
Note that you cannot access the lounge with non Malaysia Airlines boarding pass. For example, if you are on Batik Air, you won’t be able to access the lounge this way.
There are three Malaysia Airlines Golden Lounges at KLIA T1:
- Satellite (Satellite building)
- Domestic (Main Terminal)
- Regional (Main Terminal)
Unfortunately, you cannot enter the Malaysia Airlines Golden Lounges in Kuching or Kota Kinabalu using this card.
How Good Are the Golden Lounges?
The Satellite Lounge is spacious with a solid food and beverage selection. The Domestic and Regional lounges are smaller in size, with fewer facilities and a more modest spread, but still decent for short layovers.

Should I use this card to earn Enrich Miles?
| Card | Airline | FX Spend | Local Spend |
|---|---|---|---|
Ambank Enrich VI
|
0.50 MPR (MH only) |
0.50 MPR | 0.16 MPR |
UOB PRVI Miles Elite
|
0.41 MPR | 0.83 MPR | 0.08 MPR |
CIMB Elite Miles
|
0.80 MPR | 0.80 MPR | 0.08 MPR |
With the earning rate of the AmBank Enrich Visa Infinite slashed from 1 MPR to 0.5 MPR, we recommend using other stronger alternatives, i.e the UOB PRVI Miles Elite, UOB Visa Infinite, and CIMB Travel World Elite.
At this point, neither version of the AmBank Enrich cards should be used to earn miles. Instead, they function better as strategic tools: for lounge access and the 30% reduction in Enrich Elite Points requirement.
Fast Track to Enrich Elite Status
| Elite Tier | Enrich Silver |
Enrich Gold |
Enrich Platinum |
|---|---|---|---|
| Standard Elite Points requirement set by Enrich | 30 | 60 | 100 |
| AmBank Enrich 30% Discount | 21 | 42 | 70 |
The AmBank Enrich card gives the principal cardholder a 30% discount on the Elite Points needed to qualify for or maintain Enrich Elite status. This benefit doesn’t apply to supplementary cardholders.
This helps to ease some of the “status anxiety” while also saving on the cost of flying revenue tickets.
Enrich Silver doesn’t offer much, but Enrich Gold is where it gets interesting, giving you Oneworld Sapphire status. With Enrich Gold, you can access Oneworld lounges worldwide. Earning 42 Elite Points is more doable than 60, as shown by the MAS Elite Points rate below.
For instance, if you fly round-trip from KL to Kuching once a month in Economy for 11 months, you’ll rack up 44 Elite Points, enough to reach Enrich Gold thanks to this card.

Income Requirement and FD Pledge
This Visa Infinite version of this card has an annual income requirement of RM120,000, while the Visa Platinum version is RM24,000. Alternatively, those who do not meet the income requirement or do not have the required credit background can apply for this card via FD Pledge. The FD Pledge option is not advertised or officially mentioned by the bank, but we have unofficial reports of people getting the Visa Infinite version with RM40,000 in FD Pledge, and the Visa Platinum version with RM5,000 in FD Pledge.
Is the annual fee worth it?
The Visa Platinum version is free for life.
For the Visa Infinite version, the first-year annual fee waiver applies to Principal AmBank Enrich Visa Infinite cards approved on or before 30 June 2026. For cards approved from 1 July 2026 onwards, the first-year annual fee will be charged in the first statement month.
For the subsequent years, the annual fee waiver will be subjected to your annual spending:
– 50% of annual fee waiver with a minimum of RM50,000 spend a year;
– 100% of annual fee waiver with a minimum of RM100,000 spend a year.
BolehMiles values MAS Golden Lounge access at the Satellite Terminal at around RM40 per visit. If you visit more than 12 times a year or 6 times with a guest and you’re not an Enrich Elite member, the RM500 annual fee could be worth it, if that is your use case.
Otherwise, we recommend sticking with the Visa Platinum version.
Is there an option to downgrade from the Visa Infinite to Visa Platinum version?
This question came up in our BolehMiles Telegram group, and thanks to our member YJ who called customer service, we now have clarity. If you’re currently holding the AmBank Enrich Visa Infinite, you can request a “downgrade” by calling in — the Visa Platinum card will be issued to you, and your Visa Infinite will be blocked.
If your annual fee is coming up soon, we recommend making the switch to the Visa Platinum version.
Conclusion
In short, the AmBank Enrich Visa Infinite should no longer be used to earn miles. There are stronger alternatives for overseas spend in the market, such as the UOB PRVI Miles Elite, UOB Visa Infinite, and CIMB Travel World Elite. The Enrich cards now serve mainly as a strategic tool for lounge access and the 30% reduction in Enrich Elite Points requirement.
