Overall BolehMiles Rating Boleh / Macam Boleh / Tak Boleh

I was back in Hong Kong again this October — my third visit this year — and decided to stay at The Park Lane Hong Kong for the first time since its full transition into the Marriott Bonvoy family. When I last checked out on 3 January 2025, the rebranding from Pullman to Autograph Collection was still in progress, with little visible difference beyond updated signboards and staff name tags.

The Park Lane Hong Kong has been my go-to hotel since 2019, thanks to its strategic location in Causeway Bay and easy access to the MTR, trams, and major bus routes. Earlier in the year, without Marriott Bonvoy elite status, and with The Park Lane Hong Kong’s transition away from Accor, I mostly stayed at other Accor properties in Hong Kong such as Novotel Citygate Tung Chung and Mondrian Hong Kong in Tsim Sha Tsui.

Both offered pleasant stays, but neither matched the convenience, service level and familiarity I’d come to appreciate at The Park Lane Hong Kong. After securing my Marriott Bonvoy elite status, I made my way back to The Park Lane Hong Kong as soon as I could.

With the transition to Marriott Bonvoy, the hotel continues to maintain its outstanding service level from check-in to check-out. While rooms in some older unrenovated floor may feel dated, the hotel remains among my top recommendations in Hong Kong offering decent sized rooms, attentive service at reasonable rates in a prime location.

In the words of this BolehMiles universe, The Park Lane Hong Kong is most definitely a Boleh.

The Booking

I booked the Deluxe Room, City View (Superior Room was not available at time of booking) using corporate discount. One day before arrival, the Marriott app showed an upgrade to Premium Room, City View which is one category upwards. However, on the day of arrival, I was pre-upgraded to the Executive Room with City View (2 levels upwards and 4 levels if you consider City and Panoramic View as different levels).  As there was no Park Lane Suite available for booking, I did not bother to request any further upgrade.

Location

Located just minutes from Causeway Bay MTR station (Exit E) and easily accessible via direct bus from the airport, connectivity certainly ticks the box. Much has been discussed earlier on the strategic location of The Park Lane Hong Kong from shopping landmarks and dining hotspots. Simply put, convenience is synonymous with The Park Lane Hong Kong.

As a caveat, Hong Kong’s neighbourhoods each have their own distinct character — and while Causeway Bay remains my personal favourite for its accessibility, those seeking a quieter or trendier vibe might find other areas more appealing.

The heart of Causeway Bay is just mins away from the Park Lane Hong Kong

Its prime Causeway Bay location strikes that rare balance — central yet calm without overwhelming tourist crowds, with everything I need within walking distance. To put it in perspective, the Bakehouse in Causeway Bay rarely has more than ten people in line, compared to the Tsim Sha Tsui branch, where queues of 30 or more are common. Add to that dining favourites like Hashtag B, Yee Shun Milk Company and Sister Wah Beef Brisket along with 24-hour conveniences like Wellcome and Donki just steps away, and you’ve got an unbeatable location whether you’re chasing touristy spots or local neighbourhood gems.

Definitely can’t miss the famous Bakehouse which is less than 10 mins walk away and with almost no queue in the morning

Arrival

Check-in counters at the main lobby caters for Marriott Bonvoy Elite members

Check-in counters are located at the main lobby at the Ground Floor, with an alternative option at the Executive Lounge on Level 26 for members with Marriott Platinum Elite and above. As I arrived around 1am, check-in was only available at the hotel lobby. However, if you are Marriott elite member arriving between 7am to 10pm, head straight up to Level 26 for check-in.

Choice of Welcome Gift

During the check-in process, I was offered a choice between 1,000 welcome points, daily breakfast for two, or a specific food and beverage amenity. As the Executive Lounge included breakfast and the food and beverage amenity wasn’t attractive, I opted for the welcome points.

The Room

The assigned Executive Room with a Victoria Park view was 366sqft, a relatively small room but for Hong Kong standards where real estate is ridiculously expensive, this is a decent sized room. The room was well equipped with a separate toilet and shower/bathtub. The bathtub positioning felt awkward and was not a great use of space making the shower feel cramped.

Bathroom amenities also include single use toothbrush & toothpaste, comb, shower cap et
A small closet by the entrance stores 2 bathrooms, bedroom slippers, ironing board, safe box and a yoga mat.
Room is equipped with TWG teabags, Nespresso machine and coffee pod, electric kettle and water filter in replacement of bottled water.
Complimentary standard Marriott Bonvoy birthday cake since I was celebrating my birthday during this stay (received exact same cake in Westin Bali)

Room Housekeeping

Housekeeping staff starts their round early and was extremely efficient. Often our rooms are clean up within the hour when we enjoy our breakfast. Turndown service was not offered throughout the stay.

Executive Lounge

The Executive Lounge has always been a highlight of my stays with the Park Lane Hong Kong. Apart from the well-appointed space with a sweeping view of Victoria Harbour, the lounge team creates a welcoming atmosphere that feels genuinely personal.

It’s a level of hospitality that elevates the entire stay and keeps me coming back to Park Lane Hong Kong.

The lounge offers breakfast from 7.00 – 10.30am and evening cocktails from 6.00 – 8.00pm. Since joining Marriott Bonvoy, the lounge feels crowded particularly in the evenings as there is a much larger number of Elite members compared to the past Accor days. However, food items are replenished promptly, and staff is quick to clear empty tables.

The evening cocktail hours feature a rotating selection of 5–6 hot dishes alongside an extensive spread of hors d’œuvre and desserts. While it may not be enough for a full dinner, the offerings are high-quality. The lounge also provides a good range of alcoholic beverages, including two red wines, two white wines, and a selection of spirits.

Gym

The gym is located on Level 5 and well-sized with equipment including TechnoGym treadmill, stationary bicycles, elliptical trainers and weight machines.

Business Centre

It’s not common to see a business centre in hotels these days. However, Park Lane Hong Kong has a small business centre next to the gym with several workspace and a meeting room. Printing services were available but the centre was unmanned during my visit.

Business Centre entrance – unmanned and no clear directions on how to contact staff
Meeting room – prior booking required
Workspace available with monitors

Breakfast

Breakfast is served in both PLAYT and the Executive Lounge. Elite members can choose to dine either location.

PLAYT

As expected, PLAYT sees a large breakfast crowd, which can make the space feel quite busy despite the staff’s best efforts. Upon arrival, guests’ room numbers are checked, and they are escorted to assigned tables. Drink orders are taken once seated, though service can be a little slow during peak times.

The restaurant offers a generous breakfast spread, featuring Western classics, Chinese breakfast staples, a noodle station, and an impressive selection of baked goods. Cereal, yogurt and fruits are similar to those typically found at hotel breakfasts.

Western breakfast classics – sausage, bacon, pancakes, hashbrowns
Egg station
Cold cuts and cheese
Chinese breakfast corner – congee, fried noodles, cheungfun, stir-fry vegetables
Made to order noodle station
Selection of dimsum – siumai, hargow etc
Indian corner features curry, samosa and pratha
Cereal, milk, yogurt and fruits
Pastry and bread corner offers a huge selection of Danis

Breakfast at the Executive Lounge

The Executive Lounge also serves breakfast, offering both buffet and à la carte options. While the buffet selection is smaller than that at PLAYT, it includes all the essential breakfast items.

Ala carte menu – changes every Monday
Ala carte options are customizable and of high quality

SKYE Bar

During my stay, I also visited SKYE Roofbar & Dining, which boasts stunning rooftop views over Causeway Bay and Victoria Harbour. While prices are on the higher side and the bar can get busy during peak hours, the ambience and skyline views make it worth the splurge.

We were lucky to secure a window seat, and while the service was good and attentive, it was otherwise fairly standard.

Service

Service has always been a standout at The Park Lane Hong Kong, and this stay was no exception. The staff were consistently warm, friendly, and genuine — the kind of hospitality that makes you feel at home from the moment you arrive.

A special shoutout to the amazing Executive Lounge team: Sandy, June, Grace, Neo, Julia, Michelle, Julius, Nina, Joey, Jack, Samson, and Keung. Their attentive, thoughtful service truly elevated my stay and is a big part of why I keep coming back.

Value Analysis

Should you choose The Park Lane Hong Kong for your Hong Kong getaway?

The base-level room here starts from HKD1,400 before taxes. Considering hotel prices in Hong Kong, The Park Lane Hong Kong’s pricing is competitive with similar range of properties. Its prime spot in Causeway Bay — steps from transport links, shopping, and late-night conveniences — already gives it an edge over similarly priced hotels in Central or Tsim Sha Tsui. For Marriott Bonvoy elite members, the value is even more compelling thanks to lounge benefits, breakfast options, and the generous room upgrades.

Should you redeem Marriott Points for this hotel?

Redemption night in The Park Lane Hong Kong starts from 38,000 points, which gives a value of ~2 cents per point (CPP). Definitely not the best place to be spending your precious Marriott points.
