Getting Enrich Gold status through fast track can be worthwhile — but only if you can do it right. Read till the end to find out how.
In our Enrich Guide article, we showcased how useful Enrich Points are for redeeming flights — and why they remain our favourite carb miles that keep us feeling full.
We also mentioned that beyond flights, Enrich Points can be burned through the Enrich Money app for cash.
If you are new to Enrich Money, sign up for an account here and get RM10 using our referral code B6DBC2AFB4.
Well, this current promo rewards you for doing that — burn Enrich Points for cash, and earn Enrich Gold status in return. Sounds sweet, doesn’t it?
The Promotion Details
When you convert 50,000 or 100,000 Enrich Points to EnrichMoney Points (1 Enrich Point = 1 EnrichMoney Point), this promo ‘awards’ you with Enrich Silver or Gold status respectively. You can view the details of this promotion here.
The status is valid until 31 March 2026 — no matter when you are awarded the status.
In this post, we’ll only focus on Enrich Gold. This might be one of the easiest ways in the world to earn Oneworld Sapphire. You’re essentially ‘buying’ the status with points, skipping the usual hassle of flying and chasing Elite Points.

Now, converting Enrich Points to EnrichMoney Points doesn’t mean you’re burning off 100,000 Enrich for nothing just to trade for Enrich Gold status. Remember, you can always convert EnrichMoney Points to cash at a rate of 1 Enrich Point = RM0.025, or 2.5 CPM.
What you’re effectively doing is selling 100,000 Enrich at 2.5 CPM — receiving RM2,500 and Enrich Gold status. Sounds like a good deal, right?
Well, that’s true — except it comes with opportunity cost. Remember, miles are best used for redemptions. You could’ve used those Enrich Points to redeem flights worth 4 CPM or more (depending on your valuation), like those 7 carb-wonderland destinations we mentioned in our Enrich Guide.
Assuming a 4 CPM valuation, selling Enrich for 2.5 CPM means you’re paying 1.5 CPM × 100,000 Enrich = RM1,500 in opportunity cost. In other words, you’re ‘giving up’ RM1,500 for Enrich Gold.
What are the benefits of Enrich Gold?
One way to think about Enrich Gold is that even when you fly on Economy, you get all the benefits of flying Business Class — except the Business Class seat on the plane. Priority check-in, priority boarding, extra luggage, and lounge access.
You benefit from Enrich Gold when you fly in Economy. If you fly Business (J), you’re getting all these benefits anyway, so your Enrich Gold doesn’t really matter that much.
Another reason why you might want to get Enrich Gold is to use the status to earn more Enrich—but more on that later
Priority Check In and Boarding
If you’ve flown MH Economy before, you’ll know how crowded the check-in and baggage drop lines at KLIA can get .This is also true when you’re returning from abroad, where Malaysian Airlines counters are limited.
With Enrich Gold, you get to check-in at a less crowded priority counter.
At the boarding gate, even if you’re flying Economy, you priority boarding before the rest of the Economy cabin passengers, which adds a nice touch to your travel experience.

Lounge Access
The main benefit of Enrich Gold is lounge access — even when you fly MH Economy. And it’s not just the Malaysia Airlines Golden Lounge in KLIA (read our Lounge Guide here), but also a network of partner lounges across Malaysia.

Enrich Gold also gives you Oneworld Sapphire status, which means lounge access at almost* all lounges operated by Oneworld carriers worldwide — even when you fly Economy on any Oneworld partner airline.

We say “almost” all lounges because, contrary to popular belief, some lounges operated by Oneworld partner airlines don’t grant access — even if you hold Oneworld Sapphire.
Some OneWorld airline lounges apply their own special rules, like Qatar’s Premium Lounges around the world.
There are also data points of elite members being denied access to OneWorld lounges altogether — like the case at the Cathay Pacific lounge in Bangkok.
So while “by right” you should get access to Oneworld lounges, don’t assume it’s guaranteed for every lounge worldwide. Always check ahead before your visit to avoid disappointment.

Higher Fare Base Accrual (FBA) Multiplier on revenue tickets
Enrich now uses a Fare-Based Accrual (FBA) system, which means you earn Enrich Points based on the amount you spend in ringgit on the base fare and surcharges — excluding government or airport-imposed taxes and fees. The old method of earning based on distance flown and fare class is no longer used.
With Enrich Gold, you get a 2x multiplier instead of the standard 1.5x — that’s 33% more Enrich Points on revenue tickets. It’s not a massive boost, but it can add up if you fly frequently on paid tickets. Just note that this doesn’t apply to redemption flights, so if most of your trips are booked with points (like Peter), it won’t make a difference.

Extra Enrich thanks to Enrich Mid Tier Booster
For those with a ton of bank points, this is probably the reason why you would want to get Enrich Gold.
A really nice feature of Enrich is the Enrich Mid-Tier Booster, which grants you Bonus Points based on cumulative Base Points earned. You can read the full T&Cs here.

| Point Type | Description | Validity |
|---|---|---|
| Base Points | Earned through various activities such as flying with Malaysia Airlines, oneworld member airlines, partner airlines, converting bank points or other loyalty points to Enrich, or purchasing products and services from Enrich lifestyle partners. | 3 years from earn date |
| Bonus Points | Earned through promotions such as the Mid-Tier Booster and the recent 10%/20% transfer bonus campaign in February. | 1 year from earn date |
Cumulative Base Points for the Mid-Tier Booster are calculated on a calendar year basis (1 January – 31 December) and will reset to zero on 1st January of the following year.
Get Enrich Gold Mid-Tier Milestone Bonuses
Assuming that you time it right on the base points and the transfer 100,000 Enrich to EnrichMoney Point to reach Enrich Gold, you should earn a cool 25,000 Bonus Points (Milestone 1), and then 45,000 Bonus Points (Milestone 2) when you get to 250,000 Base Points.
Double-Dip on the Milestone Bonuses
But you can do even better. Since the mid-tier booster resets after a calendar year, and your Enrich Gold status is valid until Mar 2026, you have another window of 3 months in 2026 to attain the mid-tier bonus rewards again.
Here’s an illustration of how one can time the transfers to get the milestone bonuses twice (please turn your phone horizontal to view full table):
| Timeline | Action | Cumulative Base Points for Mid-Tier |
Enrich Points Balance | Enrich Status |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Feb-25 | Transfer 90,000 Enrich from bank to Enrich account, get 20% bonus | 90,000 | 90,000 Base Points + 18,000 Bonus Points (transfer bonus) + 9000 Mid Tier Bonus (2000+3000+4000 at Milestone 3) = 117,000 Enrich |
Blue |
| Apr-25 | Transfer 100,000 Enrich Points to Enrich Money Points | 90,000 | 117,000 -100,000 (convert to EnrichMoney Point) = 17,000 Enrich | Gold |
| May-25 | Transfer 10,000 Enrich from bank to Enrich account | 100,000 | 17,000 + 10,000 (from bank) + 25,000 (Milestone 1 Bonus) = 52,000 Enrich | Gold |
| Dec-25 | Transfer 150,000 Enrich from bank to Enrich account | 250,000 | 52,000 + 150,000 (from bank) + 45,000 (Milestone 2 Bonus) = 247,000 Enrich | Gold |
| Jan-26 | Mid-tier base points reset | 0 | 247,000 Enrich | Gold |
| Mar-26 | Transfer 100,000 Enrich from bank to Enrich account | 100,000 | 247,000 + 100,000 + 25,000 (Milestone 1 Bonus) = 372,000 Enrich | Gold |
In this illustration, if you take up the fast track, you’d earn total of 25,000 (Milestone 1) + 45,000 (Milestone 2) + 25,000 (Milestone 1 after reset) = 95,000 Milestone Bonus Points thanks to your Enrich Gold status — something you wouldn’t have received if you had stayed at Enrich Blue.
This assumes you time your transfers correctly, with a total of 350,000 Enrich Points converted from banks in 2025 and before 31 March in 2026.
That cool 95,000 Milestone Bonus acts as an offset to the cost of this fast track promo — so you’re not just getting the status for ‘free’, you’re also cancelling out the RM1,500 opportunity cost. The best part? You also pocket a cool RM2,500 in the process.
Now, while the T&Cs clearly state that Base Points reset on 1 January each year, the milestone rewards may not reset as expected. Based on early 2025 data points from our members, some did not receive the Milestone 1 reward again in early 2025 — despite meeting the criteria.
This might still be an issue in 2026, so just keep in mind there’s a chance you may not receive the extra 25,000 Enrich Milestone Bonus 1 in the 2026, even if you meet the threshold.
Is this worth it?
It really comes down to how much you can make use of the benefits before March 2026. If you’re awarded the status in April 2025, you’ll have around slightly less than a year to enjoy it. This works best for those who plan to fly Economy many times within that window.
And for those with a ton of Enrich Points, and you know how to take advantage of the milestones bonus? This is absolutely a good deal.
Alternatives to Enrich Gold
If you don’t travel frequently and aren’t aiming for Enrich Gold status, here are some alternative options to consider.
Use Ambank Enrich Card
If you’re only after access to the MH Golden Lounges, you can get that easily with the AmBank Enrich Card. But there are exclusions: your redemption ticket must be issued through Enrich. If you redeemed your Economy ticket using a partner program (e.g. Avios or Flying Blue), you won’t be able to access the lounge with the AmBank Enrich Card.
Get Enrich Gold by Flying
For those who fly frequently anyway, you can reach Enrich Gold through the “natural” route — by earning Elite Points by flying. With the AmBank Enrich Card, you’ll only need to accumulate 42 Elite Points within a calendar year to qualify.
| Elite Tier | Silver | Gold | Platinum |
|---|---|---|---|
| Standard Elite Points requirement set by Enrich | 30 | 60 | 100 |
| 30% discount thanks to Ambank Enrich Card | 21 | 42 | 70 |
Get OneWord Sapphire Status Elsewhere
We’ve covered this before in our BolehMiles Telegram — there are other ways to get Oneworld Sapphire status, such as through Qatar Airways’ status match program. If you’re an Accor Platinum Elite member, you might be eligible for a status match to Qatar Privilege Club Gold, which is almost equivalent to Enrich Gold status.
Conclusion
Deciding whether to go for the Enrich Gold fast track really comes down to how often you fly Economy, how many points you plan to transfer from banks, and whether you know how to time those transfers right.
And if you already have a ton of bank points ready to convert — then with the mid-tier transfer bonus, this is a no-brainer for you.
As usual, do the math for yourself, and make sure you understand the benefits of Enrich Gold before you proceed.
Until next time.
Hello Peter, thanks for the insightful article.
I actually did the transfer to enrich money to get enrich gold for the second time. I did it before back in 2023 and stayed gold until march 2025. Then i made the transfer again in April 2025 to get back on enrich gold again.
I got my mid tier booster miles in year 2024 April when I was an enrich gold member at that time. When it was April 2025, I became enrich silver and that was when mid tier boosters are awarded. I got awarded golden lounge passes instead of miles because I was on a silver status. I tried writing in to Malaysia airlines and explained my situation but I didn’t manage get my mid tier booster miles.
So currently I’m back bring enrich gold since I took the offer like you mentioned and I will get downgraded to enrich silver come April 2026 (because I don’t pay for air tickets enough).
If enrich still awards mid tier boosters in April 2026 then what does that mean for the enrich gold members that gets downgraded to silver?
What status of mid tier boosters do we get?
Do you know if they have changed the awarding date to be earlier?
