Book from now till 31 May 2026, for flights in June 2026

KrisFlyer Spontaneous Escapes is a monthly feature of the Krisflyer (Meat) miles program. Each month, usually on the 15th, selected routes are offered at 30% off the regular Saver redemption rate for flights in the next month. The downside? No flexibility, no refunds, no changes, and blackout periods apply. And you must be ready to fly the next month.

30% off – Married bookings still work, but…
Last month, we discovered that married bookings can be made directly from KUL to Spontaneous Escapes destinations, for example KUL-SIN-DPS or KUL-SIN-MNL.
Great for us in Malaysia, but one important caveat we failed to mention: the KUL-SIN leg must also have Promo slot availability for the married booking to work, on top of the onward segment departing from SIN.
SQ operates 8 daily flights from KUL to SIN, but for this month, only 1 flight has promo availability for Business class: SQ105 KUL-SIN 10:25AM – 11:45AM.
The minimum connecting time at Changi is 50 mins, so technically you can only book an onward flight that departs from SIN after 12:35PM. For Economy, there is also SQ103 8:55AM, so 2 out of 8 flights daily, just slightly better.
This significantly reduces the overall chances for us to take advantage of married bookings compared to last month.

Obviously married bookings will be the preferred option, but as savvy mileschasers, we know there are always other options. We can still to Singapore via Scoot redemptions or revenue tickets on Malaysia Airlines, Batik Air, or AirAsia.
Alternatively, normal Saver slots are also available for , which tend to have better availability for Spontaneous Escapes destinations.

For Business Class – not many standout picks this month for both married and non-married bookings, although DPS (Bali), the usual suspect, is still available.
For Premium Economy – Beijing and Shanghai are available, although the discounts only apply for direct departures from SIN.
For Economy, popular China cities Chongqing, Shenzen, Hangzhou and Xiamen are available, all great options for a short getaway. Otherwise, Seoul and Darwin are also available for discounted flights directly from SIN.

Conclusion
With only one KUL-SIN flight for Business Class this month (and just 2 flights for Economy), our ability to take advantage of Spontaneous Escapes is more limited.
If you do not mind flying Economy, China is great option this month. Otherwise, positioning to SIN also opens up option for Seoul and Darwin.
