KLIA T1 actually has a decent number of lounges. Whether you’re just looking for a place to chill, have a proper meal, or take a nap, there’s something for everyone. But some lounges can get as crowded as a Pasar Malam during peak hours, so it’s good to know your options and be ready to switch if needed.
In this guide, we go through all the lounges at KLIA T1 (airside) in detail.
If you’re new to the lounge game and how to gain access, check out our post on Best Credit Cards for Lounge Access to understand how to get in using your credit cards.
Note: You can click on any lounge below to jump straight to its section.

Located in the Satellite Terminal building, this is the flagship lounge of Malaysia Airlines. When you exit the Aerotrain, look left and up at the second floor, you won’t miss it.
The lounge itself is a massive space with plenty of seating areas., though sometimes it still gets super crowded to the point where finding a seat is literally impossible. The quiet window (anecdotally) seems to be mid-morning brunch times, around 9:30AM – 12:00PM.
Before heading over, it’s worth checking Google Maps to find out if it’s crowded. If it is, the Regional Golden Lounge at the Main Building is a good alternative.
Access: Getting into this lounge isn’t very difficult. The easiest is via the AmBank Enrich Visa Platinum. Enrich Gold/Platinum members can enter with +1 guest, along with OneWorld premium cabin passengers and OneWorld Emerald / Sapphire members.
Note though, that access is for departing flights only. If you are on transit, you can visit the lounge up to 3 hours before the departure time of the connecting flight.
Arrival access is limited to Enrich Platinum + 1 guest and MH Business Suite passengers.

Food
The food selection is pretty decent, with a range of Malaysian, Italian, and Japanese options that are switched up regularly. If you fancy made-to-order dishes, there are egg station (during breakfast), noodle station as well as sandwich and pasta station.
Bar
After the entrance, along the hallway on the left, there’s a bar where you can enjoy a cocktail with a great view.

Facilities
Families with young children will be glad to know there’s a dedicated play area to keep the little ones entertained.

Another very useful facility here is the nap room, with lie-flat day beds and segregated by gender. Perfect for catching some sleep when you’re really tired.

This might be one of the best hidden feature in KLIA: there are lockers in this lounge. Just ask the counter staff for a key and you can store your hand carry and luggage here instead of dragging them around.

MH Private Terminal Transfer

This used to be a popular way to get from the Main Terminal to the Satellite Terminal during the years when the AeroTrain was being overhauled. It is still available as of April 2026, if you want to experience the Mercedes-Benz EV. Just head to Gate G1 at the Main Terminal and the concierge can arrange it.

Next to the Golden Lounge sits the MAS Platinum Lounge, arguably the most exclusive lounge in KLIA T1. Access is reserved for Enrich Platinum members and oneworld Emeralds on any cabin (J/Y/F), as well as OneWorld Business Suite/First Class passengers.
In recent years, the big influx of Enrich Platinum and oneworld Emerald members has made the lounge noticeably more crowded, at times long queues to even get in or they may even have to turn people away, especially in the evenings.
With the 2026 Enrich changes making Platinum much harder to attain, this may ease over time.
That said, MAS has already made some adjustments. More dining tables have been added by trimming the lounging area, and tablets are now placed at tables for food ordering.

Food & Beverage
You’re seated like in a restaurant with full table service. Food can be ordered directly from a tablet. The menu rotates over time, featuring a mix of local and international dishes.
MAS Regional Golden Lounge – Main Terminal

Located in the Main Terminal building, the Regional Golden Lounge is a slightly scaled-down version of the Golden Lounge at the Satellite terminal. It’s intended for passengers flying short-haul regional routes. Access rules are the same as those for the Satellite Lounge.

Right after immigration at the Main Terminal, on the right side of the AeroTrain, take the escalator up and you’ll find Plaza Premium Lounge.
Entry to the Plaza Premium Lounge is open to all travel credit card holders in Malaysia, although some banks may impose conditions such as minimum spend requirements, restrictions on bringing guests, or access limits for supplementary cardholders.
The lounge itself is a pleasant place to visit. We especially enjoy dropping by during breakfast hours when we’re not expecting a wide variety of food. While there isn’t a huge selection, the food quality is decent and satisfying enough for a light meal. That said, in our experience, this lounge is almost always crowded.

Within the Plaza Premium Lounge, there’s a dedicated section for UOB cardholders. If you hold cards like UOB PRVI Miles Elite, UOB Visa Infinite, or UOB World, you can access this area.
Do note that entry is strictly per cardholder, with each card granting access for one person only. So you can’t enter as a pair if, for example, your partner is using a Maybank card.
Food
You can order made-to-order food and drinks via a QR code at your table, similar to Plaza Premium First, but you’re also free to help yourself to the main buffet outside.

Right next to Plaza Premium Lounge is the Plaza Premium First. It is a smaller section with a view of the runway. You can visit this with most CIMB Travel Cards, and the Maybank cards such as the Platinum Charge and World Elite Mastercard.
For non-Malaysian travelers: Note that Priority Pass, DragonPass, or even some high-end American Express cards from overseas do not get access to this lounge.
Food
There’s a mix of buffet items and made-to-order dishes ordered via QR at your table. The buffet spread is actually more limited than the main PPL, but they make up for it with a rotating “Meat of the Day” (sometimes beef, sometimes fish).

The Global Lounge spans multiple sections across Level 2 of the Satellite Building, with one area always open, with other areas may open based on expected capacity.
If you’re flying Business or First on one of the eligible airlines, head towards Gates C21–C27, where you’ll find the main entrance.
Lounge Area
The Global Lounge is noticeably quieter than the Golden Lounge, and finding a seat in the lounge area shouldn’t be an issue. There’s also a private meeting room you can use, a golf simulator, and a really nice shower room if you’re looking to freshen up.
Food
The buffet is served in large Le Creuset pots and actually tastes yummy. There’s also made-to-order noodles, including Asam Laksa and Chicken Soto.

The Travel Club Lounge is usually a quiet lounge, making it a good alternative to Plaza Premium Lounge. You’ll notice similar design elements to the Global Lounge since both are managed by the same SSP group.
Access is more limited, with fewer credit cards accepted compared to Plaza Premium. Overall, it’s a nice quiet spot to unwind. Just don’t expect much from the food. There’s also a golf simulator if you’re looking to pass some time.

If you’re looking to get proper sleep on a bed, Kepler Lounge is a solid option. Access is limited to Priority Pass, DragonPass, and LoungeKey.
One thing to note: you can’t stack entries. For example, having both Priority Pass and DragonPass won’t get you 6 hours straight. What you can do is re-enter after your 3-hour session using a different pass.
You can also pay around RM60 per hour, which can be worth it for a quick nap. But if you want proper uninterrupted rest, Sama-Sama Airside Hotel (~RM350-RM400++) is still the better option.
Closing
We do our best to keep the information and photos above up to date, but do note that access rules and lounge layouts can change over time.
