KrisFlyer Spontaneous Escapes is a monthly feature of the Krisflyer (Meat) miles program. Each month, usually on the 15th, selected routes are offered at 30% off the regular Saver redemption rate for flights in the next month.
The downside? No flexibility, no refunds, no changes, and blackout periods apply. And you must be ready to fly the next month.
Married Bookings from KUL
Spontaneous Escapes are designed for last-minute travel from Singapore. Previously, those in Malaysia had to position themselves in Singapore to take advantage of the promo.
Since April 2026, married-segment bookings have been available from KUL, for example KUL-SIN-BKK.
The catch is that both the KUL-SIN sector and the onward Spontaneous Escapes flight must have Spontaneous Escape award availability.
For this month, the available outbound KUL-SIN flights are
- Economy: SQ103 (08:55am – 10:10am), SQ 105 (10:25am – 11:45am), SQ 125 (10:00pm-11:20pm)
- Business: SQ105 (10:25am – 11:45am)
With 3 KUL-SIN Economy flights available, you have more flexibility than in Business, where only SQ105 is available.

If you’re into nature, August is a great time to visit Cairns. The warm, dry weather makes it ideal for exploring the Great Barrier Reef and the surrounding rainforest.

If you don’t mind Economy, Hangzhou, Beijing and Shanghai are on the list again. Hangzhou isn’t served by MH. Beijing and Shanghai which usually costs 19,600 Enrich Points, are cheaper at 14,700 KF via SQ Spontaneous Escapes.
Amsterdam is actually our favourite pick this month.
Malaysians love Amsterdam, especialy the family-friendly attractions such as Keukenhof and the Zaanse Schans windmills.
KLM does offer a direct flight from Kuala Lumpur, but it is a redeye. In comparison, Singapore Airlines SQ334 departs SIN at 11am, making for a more comfortable daytime journey.
Direct from SIN (non-married booking)
Taipei and Seoul in Economy are also available this month, but require positioning to Singapore, which can be done cheaply via Scoot, AirAsia or Batik Air.

Conclusion
For August, Economy redemption availability via married bookings is aplenty.
Amsterdam on Economy is our favourite pick this month, followed by China (Hangzhou, Beijing and Shanghai) and the Philippines (Manila) which also offer great values.
For Business Class, Cairns is the adventurous pick, especially if you’re into nature.
